BOOK ONE:

PLATINUM CORPSE

Book One opens at the El Portal Theatre in North Hollywood where a body has been discovered on stage sporting platinum blonde spike hair and dressed as Snow White. Detective Gabrielle Laxx has been assigned the case. Her partner, Detective Nathanial “Nate” Dennison is late on the scene from the previous night’s sexcapade which gets him a charge of rape filed against him.

The Platinum Corpse is almost impossible to identify. It’s exhausting for Gab to deal with her mother as she announces she is divorcing her husband. Mom drinks too much wine. Gab’s ex-FBI boyfriend reappears sending her hormones past Jupiter.

Jason Tibbetts, her Gay BFF & Coroner,  leading to a drug running ring and an incarcerated drug lord and almost getting herself killed.

The only thing that gets Gab through all of this is her addiction to mocha chocolate espressos over ice, extra large of course, from the Blade Runner and an extra large with sausage, mushrooms, bell peppers, onions and fresh basil from Little Toni’s.

BOOK TWO:

LEADED DEAD

Detective Gabrielle Laxx has a body problem; there are bodies dropping all over at RayCo Plumbing and she doesn't know why. She also has Attorney Todd Babcock harassing her and the D's Unit at the LAPD with lawsuits trying to coverup things on his client's computer and in the bedroom. On top of all that, her mother, Katherine Brisbane has become an actress and is staring at the local theatre in A Glass Menagerie, throwing Gabrielle's life into turmoil with unannounced rehearsals in Gab's living room. How does she survive? Does she shoot anyone? And why is Gab's face black & blue?

RIDDLED RUBIES

89 year old Joyce Rainey, an entertainer from the famed Las Vegas "Fabulous Flamingo Hotel" in the late 1940's, has shot two men in her parlor room that were robbing her of her stunning ruby jewels given to her by the infamous Benjamin "Bugsy" Seigel in 1947 for her opening one week before he was assassinated. Or were they robbing her? Detective Laxx has to decide how to solve these killing and who goes to jail, if anyone, while dealing with the continued deaths of tainted Fentanyl spreading throughout the city. All while dealing with her brother Ziggy missing after she said she had once thought he was Gay. At least she got her gun back after shooting another LAPD officer and messing up the conference room. She has things to atone for on her return to the station.

It's happy and sad but a glowing lamp into the struggles of middle class America, when there was one.
